Project summary: My initiative began as a way to distill all the information everyone was inundated with upon the onset of COVID-19. I wanted to build a one-stop-shop for all things COVID-19 providing bite-size information that was digestible by my peers. Through interviews with individuals ranging from doctors to policy makers, I was able to educate others through videos. Additionally I expanded the scope of my project to include narratives of personal experiences from around the world, graphs visualizing COVID trends, and other summarizations about matters ranging from economics to politics. I also tried to provide a respite for my community through my positivity page and attempts to highlight hometown heroes. https://covid.aryaramachandran.com The website was well received by the community and served as a Service Learning Tool for Winchester Schools (https://drive.google.com/file/d/19ESWsxmHzdHi41jeOtFbQDnf0EB2n6mt/view?usp=sharing) Building off of the fundamental tenet of educating my peers in the US, I also reached out to Siragu Montessori school in Chennai, India. This is a school that I have worked with for the past several years. Recently, however, they have been devastated by the pandemic just as much as we have, if not more. Therefore, I took it upon myself to innovatively support the school during these difficult times. Thus my idea is to further my work in both these seemingly disparate, but actually related projects. I want to continue working on my website as the content serves my local community and serves as the foundation for my curriculum for my Siragu students. Additionally, I want to support my students financially as well by ensuring they have better technology when working with me and learning from me.
