| Summary: | The Language Arts program for Grade 1 is designed to enhance a child’s reading, speaking, writing and listening skills through exposure to quality literature. We are requesting grant monies for the purpose of purchasing 4 updated wireless listening stations and curriculum- related CDs to enhance first grade literacy skills. Students will benefit from the use of these centers to develop comprehensive reading skills through the auditory modality. A listening station is one of many work stations found in a balanced primary literacy environment. These materials would allow us to increase motivation, engage students and offer varied learning choices. Materials at a listening station can be differentiated for specific learning styles and levels. This grant would support our commitment to creating an environment that encourages the development of all literacy skills. |
