| Summary: |
Authorfest has been a well respected and anticipated tradition in the Winchester schools. It originated 13 years ago in the elementary schools, then was expanded to the middle school and in 2003 was made available to the high school(due to a WFEE grant). Over the years, Authorfest has hosted over 70 different nationally acknowledged published authors and illustrators. Through the Authorfest program, students learn about the art of writing and illustrating as the authors /illustrators visit the classrooms throughout the town and discuss their individual works and methods through which they develop ideas for their books. |
