| Summary: | The Northeastern School Health Institute summer conference is a yearly event that allows school nurse educators from around the nation to collaborate and learn about the latest research on a particular nursing topic. This year’s theme is Understanding Brain Development from preschool through adolescence. Topics that will be addressed include anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, seizures, traumatic brain injuries, substance use/ abuse, and concussions. The conference will discuss brain development and how these specific illnesses and injuries impact student behaviors and learning. This will provide a great opportunity for the school nurses in the Winchester District to meet with other school nurse educators and discuss ways to enhance our nursing practice. |
