Summary: Using 21st Century technology, large screen wall mounted LCD/TV connected to cable and the internet with LCD projection capability, as well as 6 wireless laptops to connect students and faculty of WHS to global news and information. The Center will be the place for the WHS community to access media news sources. They will also be able to compare and critically analyze these sources. The Reference area will be cleared of the old desktop computers, reference books and tables. The large Flat screen TV will be hung with an LCD projector unit for internet viewing on screen. The Television will be tuned to cable news with a connection as needed to the internet for instant links to areas of interest. Six( 6)café tables and Eighteen (18) tall stools will be set for students to work with laptops as they follow the cable news productions. Laptops will be used to search recommended online sites during the news productions, databases for articles and up-to-date information on topics of personal interest or curriculum research. Faculty will be able to find out the availability of the Center with the same online technology they currently use for Computer labs or sign up as they would to bring a class to the library. Students and faculty will no longer feel isolated from world events when in school at WHS. There will be an open convenient area and a librarian for guidance to the connections with the world.
