The children at V.O. have begun to gain insight into the culture of Indonesia through a partnership with the Sakora Loka school in Bali. In an effort to continue this cultural exchange, an Indonesian/American photo culture-capsule project has been initiated. This project was piloted with a 3rd grade class at V.O. last year. The students were given a disposable camera to photograph and capture images representing their culture over a 4 month period. The students then created photo books with captions and were sent to the Sakora Loka School. This grant provides the tools necessary to extend this cultural exchange opportunity to all of the 3rd graders at V.O. |
