In order to understand and appreciate the educational value of this tool, we invite you to observe an Activboard lesson in Jennifer Worsham’s classroom. Please contact Lisa McManus to arrange a convenient day and time.
In the 21st century world in which we live, the ability to access and use information technology is an integral part of everyday life. Our children are growing up in an ever-increasing technological environment and need to be adept at using many forms of technology as they proceed through all levels of their academic experience and into the working world. Many children have access to and are accustomed to using computers, video games, and MP3 players on a daily basis. As educators, it is incumbent upon us to embrace their interests and skills while engaging students in rich learning experiences. By expanding the use of the Promethean Activboard along with Activote technology into two classrooms at Ambrose School, teachers will provide students with enhanced learning experiences that will increase student engagement, simultaneously target a variety of learning styles, and enable formative assessment opportunities that will immediately determine the direction of instruction. Teachers will be able to collaborate on many levels within the school and district to develop lessons that will provide common learning experiences for Winchester students.
