Part II: Grant proposal |
|
Summary: |
In May of 2011, WFEE approved a grant to purchase document cameras for all the second grade classrooms. As intended, these document cameras have truly enhanced instruction and student learning in these eighteen classrooms. Daily examples include projecting teacher prepared exemplars to promote high expectations, projecting student work as a way of celebrating learning, showing curriculum related artifacts, enlarging science specimens and sharing single copy texts. The Ladibugs are particularly effective when engaging young children because quality visuals and real life representations are so important to their ability to process new information. Based on our recent technology inventory, twenty of our combined kindergarten and first grade classrooms are equipped or will be equipped(VO)with Ladibugs. The purchase of an additional fourteen document cameras would help us to capitalize on existing LCD technology, encourage grade level collaboration and promote equity of opportunity across the district. This grant has the support of the Assistant Superintendent and the elementary principals.
