Summary: |
Teachers As Scholars is a renown professional development
organization. TAS's philosophy is to provide high level lectures,
demonstration and instruction to k-12 educators throughout
Massachusetts. TAS provides both elementary and secondary school teachers an opportunity to participate in seminars instructed by professional educators from prominent educational and cultural institutions throughout the Boston area.
Seminars support core curriculum subject areas such as the Art,
Humanities, Math and Science. Teachers are encouraged to take course in a variety of content backgrounds. Participating universities and institutions include: Boston University, Brandeis, Harvard, Tufts, Wellesley, and Museum of Fine Arts Boston. TAS Membership is competitive. New openings for school districts to be a part of TAS is not alway available. Currently, local school district members include; Acton-Boxborough, Arlington, Belmont, Concord-Carlisle, Dover-Sherborn, Wellesley and Weston.
