Rich Burchill, Lincoln School, along with parent representatives of the library programs of each of Winchesters elementary schools.
All five elementary schools are joining together to request funds to purchase 3 copies of each of the 2006-2007 Massachusetts Childrens’s Book Award nominees, and one copy of each of the 2006 Newbery and Caldecott Medal Winner and Honor books. The grant writers stress that it is crucial to offer new books that appeal specifically to the elementary child to stimulate their current reading levels and inspire them to enjoy reading.
