Summary: |
We are excited to revamp our current Makerspace! Our goal is to bring more hands on experiences to grades K-5 in the area of STEM and this technology will allow us to do that. Creative problem solving and the ability to collaborate with others effectively are skills that are increasingly in demand in the workforce. As we prepare our students for the real world, we need to equip them with these skills. The technology we are requesting will enhance their abilities in both of these areas as well as challenge them to think outside the box to create and solve engineering challenges. Our aim is to create a traveling maker space where teachers can take the materials to their classrooms, incorporate them into their lessons, and then return the materials to a central location. In addition to the technology, we will include engineering challenges for students to solve using the technology and supplemental materials that we will provide. The goal is for each student to think creatively and work collaboratively to solve STEM challenges and enhance their critical thinking skills. |
