Summary: |
The Assistive Technology Industry Association (ATIA) is a non profit organization that's goal is to spread awareness as well serve as a collective voice for anyone with a disability in order to develop ways for these individuals to access everyday non-educational as well as education activities with the least amount of restrictions. This 3 day educational conference offers seminars on IPAD use in the classroom, data collection using digital tools to document progress, technology for individuals with vision and hearing impairments, tools for providing low tech devices on the fly, providing access to standards based curriculum, effective instruction in using Google apps in education, and hundreds more! Although there are some similar professional development opportunities offered locally, this 3 day conference will provide us with a crash course of all the local opportunities plus seminars not offered in New England all on site. The idea of attending this confere
nce would be to learn about a whole new set of strategies to teach to each individual's students needs. Then carry over these strategies and educate the district about the devices, ideas, tools, and strategies that are available to use in every classroom in Winchester. |
