Applicant and Project Information   Title of project: Standing up for Education Project manager: Leah Ferullo School: Muraco Curriculum: Other   Part II: Grant proposal   Summary: As we continue to explore the benefits of adaptive and flexible seating in our co teaching classrooms, we believe the next addition to our classroom should be stand up desks for the students of various academic, behavioral and emotional needs. Many students already benefit from the Hokki stools and separate work spaces we have in our classrooms in order to focus and maintain stamina on projects or tasks. We continue to try and accommodate all students needs and have found from year to year that at least several students tend to stand while doing work. We have also noticed a decrease in behavioral outbursts or classroom distractions when those who benefit from standing are provided with this option.
