Students will experience a whole school initiative through a common read aloud and will make meaningful connections, differentiated by grade level, to the book, Only One You by Linda Kranz. They will understand that they, in their own way, can truly make a difference in their own lives and in the lives of those around them. After that, students will paint their own unique fish rock, and the older grade students will also include an inspirational quote on it. Students will see that one little act of kindness and beauty, when combined with others can create one large act of kindness and beauty. Students will also celebrate their own uniqueness.
This project will culminate in an art installation that will be located by the Lincoln playground for all to see!
