Project summary: |
Books and Bridges is a nonprofit organization run and advised by Winchester High School students and staff members. Our mission is to show younger students the importance of recognizing women in leadership roles. We do this primarily by reading books about female leaders to elementary classrooms, such as "Rosie Revere, Engineer", "Who Says Women Can't Be Doctors?", and "Kamala and Maya's Big Idea". Our organization has had a large effect across schools in our community, but we hope to foster an even greater impact with the idea of purchasing picture books about female leaders to give to the elementary schools. We feel that this will help our organization have a more lasting impact on the schools we work with.
