Summary: The purpose of this project is to provide Tech4Learning software to all students and teachers in all five elementary schools in Winchester. Tech4Learning is an innovative educational technology company that develops and markets original professional development programs and creativity products for K-12 education. Since the company was founded in 1999, they have focused on developing tools educators need to be successful with technology in their classrooms. Tech4Learning believes in a vision of education where students are actively and creatively engaged in the learning process, and graduate prepared to use the skills and knowledge they have acquired. Students (and Teachers) from K-5 will use Tech4Learning software as a tool to reinforce curriculum standards through the use of multimedia software and activities. Tech4Learning will be used by students of all learning styles and capabilities. Tech4Learning focuses on 21st century outcomes which begins with strong foundations in the core subjects. Creating unique products engages students in their learning, motivating them to master difficult concepts. Tech4Learning's open-ended tools require students to think creatively as they develop, implement, and effectively communicate new ideas to others/. Having students create with video, audio, text and images provides an opportunity to exercise high-order thinking skills. Students must critically evaluate both content and media as they formally, analyze, and synthesize information to solve problems and answer questions. All products are fully compatible with PCs, projectors, and interactive whiteboards. The project will build essential 21st Century Skills.
